Two wins for Bou in Andorra

The reigning champion takes his second win of the weekend, with Marcelli fifth.

Intense rain was the main protagonist of the second day of the Andorran TrialGP. The slippery and muddy zones provided a challenge for the Repsol Honda Trial Team riders, who were finally able to put in good performances: Toni Bou took another victory in Sant Julià de Lòria and Gabriel Marcelli was fifth.

As he did on the previous day, Bou dominated on the second day in Andorra. The Repsol Honda Trial Team rider had seven consecutive cleans on the first lap and occupied the lead, then on the second run maintained first place and earned another victory. Bou has a total of seven wins this season, four of them in a row.

Marcelli had a difficult day in Sant Julià de Lòria. Despite improving compared to the previous day, he nevertheless made some mistakes that he was unable to recover from in his fight for the podium. On the first lap he placed fifth, and in the end he finished in fifth position after the second lap.

Bou remains the series leader with 191 points, and Marcelli is still in third position with 133 points. The next round of the TrialGP World Championship will be held in Italy from July 21st-23rd.

Toni Bou #1
“I'm very happy. It has been a great weekend for us, not only because of the victories, but also because of how I felt on the bike. The team have done an incredible job; in Andorra it is always difficult because of the altitude, so thank you to everyone. The objective in the next race in Italy will be to finish as high as possible, arrive in good shape and fight for a title in a battle that will be tight until the end."

Gabriel Marcelli #38
“Today has been a difficult day. The overall verdict on the weekend is not positive, but we have collected a lot of information, we have learned things and now we have many points to improve and reinforce. This is what we will try to look for in the next few races. Regarding the championship, we are in third and now we have a good gap. The objective will be to learn from all the mistakes we have made this weekend, work very hard and get on the podium in the coming races."

Takahisa Fujinami - Team Manager
"Very happy, I want to congratulate Toni Bou and the team for the work they have done. We have seen in the last few races how he has regained his confidence and the results have been great. Toni has ridden very well and this is the line we have to follow. Gabri in the first lap was able to hold on a bit, but in the second lap he couldn't drop penalty points and that hurt him. He has to learn and improve some things, but I'm sure he will push hard to get back on the podium again in the next races. It was a pity this weekend, but we will fight to get him back to the top."
